Best of Italy
Sitting at the train station on Vernazza waiting to start our journey out of Italy. It is hard to believe that we've already completed 15 days in Italy, it was good to us and maybe a little too good to our bellies!! The Cinque Terre was beautiful, if even a little crowded due to the Easter holiday. The hiking was gorgeous! and the water so clear and deceiving (so many times I wanted to jump right in). Matt's favorite of the towns was Vernazza, the one we stayed at. I really liked it as well, but also like Riomaigiou. It was a little quieter and we had a wonderful lunch of salad and roasted chicken that we ate at the harbor there. We did a lot of hiking and are looking forward to the bit of relaxing in Nice and to see some of the other towns around Nice.
Oh, we had a fabulous desert last night at Il Pirate - chocolate canoli and some wonderful strawberry creation. It almost made me forget about gelato! Ah... Gelato, I will miss my little game of seeing what flavors I can try this time! Gelato is wonderful - the best was what we had in Florence at Gelateria Dei Neri. Even Matt was in love!
